Preaching Challenges.
What are the challenges facing Evangelical Sermons???
Introductions are too long.
Using up all the good thoughts in the intro…
(save them for the application.)
Preaching the outline not the bible.

If God is for us…
It’s an awesome source of courage to know, ‘if God is for us, who can be against us?’ (Rom. 8:31). It’s not awesome because Paul’s saying Christians should expect smooth sailing or no enemies in this world – No! We’ve got to expect to suffer for following Christ. That’s a given.
What does make this awesome is that, if God is for us, then it simply doesn’t matter who’s against us.
Have you copped hits from your own family for becoming a Christian? Do you know that feeling when someone you look up to bags you out for standing up for Christ? Can you think of a time when a group turned against you in a mad ‘pick on the Christian’ moment? It’s not easy is it. But remember that if God is for us, who can be against us!
So the next time you’re getting hassled for being a Christ follower, hold your ground. Stand firm. Be courageous. The same God who made the world, rose from the grave and laughs when the nations plot against him says…I’m for you. Don’t sweat the small stuff…keep going, I’m on your side.

What does the priority of Word ministry look like?

Handling differences
How do we do the right thing when we discuss with people from different theological backgrounds?
What exactly is the issue?
Is this debate productive?
Does our different background explain the differences?
What are the things we do agree on?
How important is the issue?
Be considerate to everyone – even those who oppose you.
